The video game market is growing little by little in Latin America, so more and more companies are interested in taking their proposals to the region. Brazil is a special case, where the industry has grown exponentially since 2014.
Despite this, Brazilian gamers constantly suffer from the lack of certain products, but especially from the high prices of consoles and games. To put this in perspective, it’s worth remembering that the PS4 Pro sold for around $935.
Brazilian society is not happy with Sony and PlayStation, because recently there has been an increase in the price of games and it will happen soon with brand services. This has given rise to a whole movement to demand fairer and more accessible costs in the region.

Brazilian gamers demand better prices from Sony and PlayStation
PlayStation fans in Brazil have faced several price hikes this year. First of all, PlayStation Plus will increase its cost to 34% on July 7. The service will increase about $10 in your annual subscription, while the monthly and quarterly plans will also increase.
Gamers were surprised this week by the price hike in the PlayStation Hits line, which offers popular PS4 games at a reportedly low cost. These games saw a 24% increase in cost, so they are now offered for R$99.50 ($19.67) instead of $79.90 (~$15.79).
Annoyed gamers didn’t stand idly by, so they started a campaign on social media to ask Sony and PlayStation to adjust pricing. This is how the hashtags «PlayStationLowerPrices» and «PlayHasLimits» were born.
To put it in perspective, gamers have compared the prices of some games on PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store, a company that is gaining more and more ground with Xbox and services like Game Pass.
as per details, Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection It’s offered on the Sony Store for R$214.90 (~$43), while in the Microsoft Store it costs $184.95 (~$36) in the Microsoft Store.
In addition, players claim that PlayStation 5 games are too expensive, since it must be remembered that Sony increased the cost of some of its titles for the new generation. Brazilians are also complaining about the high price of the console, which can cost R$4,700, or $929 at the current exchange rate.

Brazil is a region with growth potential for the gaming market. There is no justification for increasing the prices of games that have already been released, especially the PlayStation Hits series. Society must mobilize and we are all together!#PlaystationLowerPrices #PlayTemLimits pic.twitter.com/W9DbcqLUuh
