At the beginning of 2020, we told you that Electronic Arts had made the decision to change the name, identity and mission of DICE LA. Since then, little has been known about what will happen to this DICE space study, but that has changed, because we already know its new identity and what will happen in the future.
Through a statement, Electronic Arts announced that, as of today, DICE LA will be known as Ripple Effect Studios. Their goal in this new era will be to become a studio that demonstrates excellence in everything: from their games to the process they create. In other words, they strive to provide high quality products, while always maintaining a positive work culture.

Ripple Effect Studios will have a leadership team from Vince Zampella, co-founder of Respawn Entertainment, and Christian Grass, who was the director of DICE LA from April 2017 until the studio changed its name. Both will work with a talented group of programmers and artists to realize their vision.
“The talent here has a long history of producing high-quality games and the studio is ready to make more great games in the future. With our amazing new campus in Los Angeles and remote locations available, now is the time to consider joining us,” said Vince Zampella.
Ripple Effect Studios is already preparing for its first projects
Studying just because they show their new identity doesn’t mean they were with their arms crossed. In fact, they are already working on two different projects.
According to the post, Ripple Effect Studios is developing a «player-inspired» experience for Battlefield 2042. In addition, they have already begun to create a study that has not yet been announced.
