Nick Spencer entered The Amazing Spider-Man It is about to end with the 74th edition of the series. Sadly it looks like this will now be for Peter Parker, as Ben Riley, his identical clone, will arrive to don the mantle of Spider-Man once again with a new creative team from The Amazing Spider-Man No. 75.

Patrick Gleeson is the new writer and artist for The Amazing Spider-Man Once Nick Spencer’s run as a screenwriter ended. As we can see, these covers show us the dying Peter Parker of the love of his life, Mary Jane Watson, and one even puts Parker on a stretcher in the hospital. These could be indications of a possible temporary retirement for health reasons, or even Parker’s death – a fact that wouldn’t be new – after facing Kindred, his staunch enemy of current numbers.

Some fans assumed Peter would find himself in some kind of coma, or was actually on his deathbed, or that he would just have to recover for a while to get back to normal. Marvel hasn’t said anything about it, however, the three options are very viable. Will we ever see Peter Parker die – ahem, again -?
