We told you two weeks ago about the sad death of River, the dog who was the inspiration for Dogmeat de Fallout 4. While his legacy will always be present in the RPG and in the hearts of fans, Xbox and Bethesda wanted to honor his memory with a noble gesture that would help dozens of puppies.

What happens is that Xbox and Bethesda have announced that they will donate $10,000 to the Montgomery County Humane Society, a charity that seeks to protect and rehabilitate dogs in shelters, as well as prevent and avoid animal abuse.

Additionally, Xbox provided a link to the organization’s website and urged players to be invited to donate.

It is important to note that the Humane Society of Montgomery County, which operates in the United States, is funded only by donations from the community and income from private programs.

Finally, the Humane Society of Montgomery County thanked Xbox and Bethesda for the gesture in a tweet, and emphasized that it was an honor to be part of River’s tremendous legacy, a dog who has always been surrounded by so much love. Unfortunately, not all animals have the same luck, so it’s always good to know that there are charities out there willing to address this situation.
