Five Nights at Freddy’s creator won’t apologize for donating to Donald Trump

Politics proves once again that it is a controversial topic. We say this because Scott Cawthon, author of the famous horror game Five nights at Freddy’s, severe criticism and insults on social media after revealing donations he made to various candidates from an American party.

It all began on June 10 when the record of multiple donations Cawthon made to Republican candidates, including Mitch McConnell, Ben Carson, Cory Gardner and Donald Trump, the former president of the United States, surfaced.

After the massive wave of negative comments, Scott Cawthon spoke about it in a lengthy post on reddit. There, he explained that the last days were «surreal» for him, and that he thought a lot about how to tackle the problem.

Cawthon began by claiming that he had received threats from people who promised to come to his home. The creator claims that his wife is 6 weeks pregnant, so both were very afraid. «All because I exercised my rightful duty as an American citizen to vote and support candidates who I felt could run the country better for everyone, and that’s something I won’t apologize for.»

Without a doubt, her donation to Donald Trump was the most controversial. Cawthon emphasized that the former president is now «the best man to promote a strong economy and confront America’s enemies abroad.»

“If they cancel me, I will cancel. I no longer do this for money; I do it because I enjoy it. If people think I’m doing more harm than I do now, maybe they better cancel me and retire.”
