E3 2021 kicked off today and one of the biggest announcements was the Mario + Rapids: Sparks of Hope, the latest installment in the Nintendo and Ubisoft collaborative series. If the announcement is enough to get you excited, be prepared that a major composer’s participation in the project has already been confirmed.
Shortly after the game was revealed, there was a broadcast with some of those responsible for the project, such as the project’s creative director, David Soliani.

The presentation talked about the importance of sparks to help the heroes end the threat of dark chaos in all of space and the main enemy, Corsa.
According to Soliani, the team wanted to continue the series, which was made possible by how well the original game was received by fans. In the second installment, it is expected to offer a renewed combat experience that will take tactical mechanics to a new level, something that will be achieved by redesigning the system, which will favor action and fluidity without restricting the grid or index in the area.
Mario + Rapids: Sparks of Hope Grant Kirkhop will bring back
Something fans wondered after the new installment was announced was whether the music would once again be played by Grant Kirkhope, the composer who co-starred in the original title and is known for being part of Rare and has worked in franchises like Banjo Kazooie s Donkey Kong Country.
The good news is that Soliani has confirmed that Kirkhop will indeed be back at work sparks of hope He said that both were good friends and that although Kerkhopp sometimes complained about him, he was happy to have him on his team.
