A few months ago, Twitter announced Fleets, a feature of the social network that served a similar purpose to Instagram Stories. It seems that this option passed without much pain or glory, as Twitter made the decision to end the feature.
Through a post on his social network, Twitter reported that as of August 3, the fleets will no longer be available. This means that it takes weeks for you to lose the ability to post tweets that only last a few hours on the social network.

Why is Twitter removing Fleets?
But why are the fleets leaving? As Twitter explained, the platform’s original function was that people could join the conversation without much pressure. In other words, get people who post less on Twitter to increase their activity on the social network in a way without pressure.
However, the shot backfired on Twitter as Fleets were mostly exploited by people who post more. In this way, the task for which the option was born did not succeed.
«We planned for fleets to help people feel comfortable joining the conversation in a low-pressure way, but it turns out that fleets were primarily used for those who tweeted the most,» Twitter said.
