Mobile is the preferred platform to play
It’s important to mention that by gamers we mean anyone who plays any type of game on any device, be it through a console, computer or mobile phone, regardless of whether they enjoy doing it casually or frequently (hardcore). However, it is not surprising to know that mobile devices and mobile phones are the platforms where most people play games.
According to the 2021 Global Games Market Report (via Wccftech), of this number, 2.8 billion users play on their mobile devices; 2.8 billion are played on PC and only 0.9 billion on console. It’s important to remember that the user can play on multiple platforms, and the interesting thing is that Newzoo mentions that there are more people playing on multiple devices than ever before, something that goes hand in hand with the rise of cross-play.

Huge growth is expected in video games
In large part due to the pandemic that broke out last year, the video game industry experienced incredible growth last year, generating $177.8 million in profits. This is understandable, as measures to limit the spread of the epidemic are being relaxed. Remarkably, however, the drop in income will drop quite a bit, and Newzoo states that this inertia is strong enough to continue after the pandemic. In fact, the growth rate is very good and more will be observed in the coming years, because according to the estimates given in the report, the growth is expected to be 8.7% for 2024, thus amounting to 218.7 million US dollars.
On the contrary, the growth in the number of players compared to last year was 5.4%.
