Clause 1.4 of the contract states that, for a period of 7 years, Capcom must ensure that «every version of the game available on the PlayStation platforms maintains parity in content, features and technologies (subject to the platform’s physical limitations)». This is precisely the last point that many have overlooked.

I don’t know why people would interpret it this way. The wording in both is pretty straightforward.
