The video game industry has become one of the most profitable industries in the entertainment market in recent years. For this reason, it is not uncommon to know that more companies are interested in it.

We recently learned about the case of Simulmedia and its playerWON platform, which will try to do something players aren’t happy with: put commercials like those shown on TV in games.

According to one report, Electronic Arts has worked with playerWON, with many fearing that the developer will soon add commercials to its upcoming releases. The studio knows that this worries their followers, so he talked about the topic and explained his plans.

Will Electronic Arts add commercials for its new games?

If you don’t remember, playerWON’s suggestion means players can watch commercials, which are anywhere from 15-30 seconds long, during gameplay sessions. If they did, they would be rewarded in some way, with things or skins, for example.

Sources have linked PlayerWON to Electronic Arts and its games, sparking fear among players. In light of this, the study confirmed that it is fully committed to the gaming experience of its followers.

in statements computer gamesElectronic Arts denied the news that advertisements had arrived for its console games. He also stated that he did not make any kind of deal with Simulmedia to use playerWON.

«Following incorrect reports that we’re looking to introduce ‘TV-style’ commercials in our games, we wanted to make it clear that in-game advertising for console titles isn’t something we’re currently analyzing, and we haven’t signed any agreement to implement it,» a studio spokesperson said.

Electronic Arts has made it clear that its main goal is to continue to provide the best possible experience to all of its customers. Thus, the study would not venture into this model, at least not in the short term. As mentioned, the project received outright rejection from the community.

Despite the above, the model proposed by playerWON is not so far fetched by modern standards. While Electronic Arts declines to participate in it for now, other companies may bet on in-game commercials in the not too distant future.
