There is no doubt that video game influencers and professional gamers can be very popular, even more so than television or music celebrities. However, this does not mean that all people, especially those outside the esports ecosystem and social networking, recognize them. Unfortunately, this was discovered in a bad way by a well-known figure from the FaZe Clan group.
What happens is that streamer and YouTuber FaZe Banks has become a mockery of social networks and video game forums after an embarrassing clip of him started going viral on the internet.

Specifically, FaZe Banks, one of the founders of the popular esports team FaZe Clan, walked into a video game store as if he was a celebrity: with his arms raised and eagerly awaiting the reaction of local customers to see him. Unfortunately for him, no one recognized him.

Of course, it is important to note that the video that began circulating on social networks is old, since its original history dates back to around 2016. In fact, in the store we can see some promotional posters for Titanfall 2 s Batman: Arkham Knight.
Of course, the popularity of esports and the culture of online gamers has increased exponentially since 2016, so it is possible that more people can already identify with FaZe Banks more easily today. Either way, it’s undeniable that the clip is pretty funny and serves as a time capsule.
